About these terms

These terms apply to your use of the Roofing Lower Hutt website and to quotes and roofing work arranged through it. The website is operated by Wairoof Ltd (NZBN 9429048241670), and Wairoof carries out all work booked through it. In these terms, “we”, “us” and “our” mean Wairoof Ltd.

By using this website or asking us for a quote, you agree to these terms.

Using this website

The information on this website is general guidance only. It isn’t a quote, and it may not suit your particular roof. We confirm what your roof needs after an on-site assessment.
We work to keep the website accurate and up to date, but we can’t promise it is error-free or always available.
Photos and examples show typical work. Your job will be priced and specified in your own written quote.
The text, images and logos on this website belong to Wairoof Ltd or are used with permission. Please don’t copy them for commercial use without our written consent.
Links to other websites, such as Google reviews and maps, are provided for convenience. We aren’t responsible for their content.

Quote requests

Sending an enquiry or quote request doesn’t create a contract or commit you to anything.
Assessments and quotes are free.
We aim to respond quickly, but a start date is only confirmed once we have agreed it with you in writing.

Quotes

Your quote will be in writing. It sets out the price, the scope of work, what is included and excluded, and how long the quote is valid.
A quote is based on what we can see and reasonably assess before work starts. If we find hidden problems once the roof is opened up, such as rotten framing or damaged underlay, we will stop, show you, and agree any extra work and cost with you before going ahead.
Any changes you ask for after accepting a quote will be priced and agreed with you before we do them.

Your contract with Wairoof

Work is carried out by Wairoof Ltd under your accepted quote or written contract. That document sets out the price, payment terms, timing and any guarantees, and takes priority over these website terms if they differ.
For residential building work of $30,000 or more (including GST), we will give you a written contract, and before you sign, the standard checklist and a disclosure statement, as the Building Act 2004 requires. You can ask for the checklist and disclosure statement on smaller jobs too.

Weather, access and safety

Roofing depends on the weather. We may need to reschedule for rain or high wind to keep the job safe and the work sound. If so, we will let you know as soon as we can.
Please give us safe, reasonable access to the property, and tell us about anything we should know before we start, such as pets, alarms, fragile items or any material you think may contain asbestos.

Your rights

Nothing in these terms limits your rights under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993, the Fair Trading Act 1986 or the Building Act 2004. For residential building work, this includes the implied warranties and the 12-month defect repair period.
If something isn’t right with our work, tell us in writing and we will put it right as the law requires.
If you are buying our services for business purposes, we may agree in your written contract that the Consumer Guarantees Act does not apply, where the law allows.

Liability

To the extent the law allows, we aren’t liable for any loss arising from your use of this website or from relying on the general information on it. Our responsibilities for the work itself are set out in your quote or contract and in the law described above.

Privacy

We handle your personal information as described in our Privacy Policy.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. The version on this page applies from the date it was last updated. Changes don’t affect a quote or contract you have already accepted.

Governing law

These terms are governed by New Zealand law, and the New Zealand courts have jurisdiction.
